Principal, Director, MediaLab
Dallas, Texas USA
For John, movies served as a basis for his career, creating “a vision of what an architect was — someone thoughtful, creative, important,” he says. Now, as the founder and president of our MediaLab, he leads a team in helping our clients communicate their stories and create “wow moments” using film, animation, motion graphics, architectural visualization, and more.
Operating on the belief that informed people make better decisions and inspire people to action, John strives to find “the why,” or the story, behind every client and project. “If I can educate and inspire people through meaningful storytelling, then we can impact the communities around us,” he says. Through MediaLab, John uses a variety of technologies, from motion design to drones, to do just that. Thanks to his leadership, the lab is now recognized as a regional leader in the field of architectural visualization.
John’s proudest achievements include creating a music video and video game, as well as the opportunity to work with so many talented people. He continues to share his passion and expertise with others by regularly speaking at Autodesk University and other conferences on the topics of technology and digital storytelling. Beyond architecture, John’s portfolio includes projects with clients like Adidas, Dell, Mountain Dew, Chase, and others.
In his free time, he rarely stops moving — whether he’s running, playing pickleball, or doing time-lapse photography. “In general, I really like being in motion,” John says. “I love to travel, run, and always be moving. Even in photography, time-lapse interests me because it is the capture of movement.”
