Corgan Relocates Washington, D.C. Office, Expanding Space for Growth and Collaboration
Global architecture and design firm Corgan has relocated its Washington, D.C. office to Skanska’s trophy office 17xM, one of the city's premier workplaces in the heart of downtown. The move marks a significant milestone in Corgan's continued growth in the region since establishing a Washington, D.C. presence in 2024. Further, it creates a new home for the firm's expanding team following the acquisition of FOX Architects, a respected Washington-based firm known for its leadership in commercial architecture and interiors, workplace strategy, and building repositioning and recycling. The integration of the firms, which occurred in April 2026, has strengthened Corgan's presence in the Mid-Atlantic region and created one of the region's most comprehensive architecture and design practices.

Located at 1700 M Street, NW, the new office was designed by Corgan’s team to foster collaboration, innovation, and connection while reflecting the firm’s research-driven approach to workplace design. Drawing inspiration from the varied landscapes of the region and the defining Brutalist character of Washington, D.C.’s many iconic buildings, the space balances monumental forms and repeating rhythms with the warmth, movement, and organic qualities of the natural world. Through thoughtful materiality, scale, and sculptural form, the workplace supports Corgan’s multidisciplinary team across aviation and transportation facilities, commercial office, cultural, data centers, and workplace interiors, creating a welcoming and flexible setting for clients and employees alike.
Over the last five years, Corgan has experienced significant growth, adding 500 employees and 11 studio locations. Further, in the last two years, the firm has significantly enhanced its presence along the East Coast via acquisitions of boutique architecture firms including Dyer Brown (Boston), Cooper Robertson (New York), FOX Architects (Washington, D.C.), WCGS (Albany) and Duda Paine (Durham).
