Corgan Moves Houston Office to Greenway Plaza

HOUSTON — Global architecture and design firm Corgan, has moved its Houston office to 9 Greenway Plaza. The Class A, LEED Silver-certified building is a fitting home for a firm dedicated to elevating architecture and design for clients in aviation, commercial, education, workplace interiors, and healthcare sectors. Corgan’s Houston area clients include both of the city’s airports, Southwest Airlines, Houston Methodist Medical System, Skybox, JPMorgan Chase, Lovett Commercial and more. The firm recently completed an adaptive reuse project for Common Desk at POST Houston in the historic Barbara Jordan Central Post Office as well as offices for Weaver and a repositioning of 5 Post Oak Park. Corgan is also working on Fort Bend ISD Middle School.

“Corgan’s Houston presence is increasing, and as the firm earns more work in the area, the team is expanding to match the demand,” said Brian Reddy, Corgan associate principal and director of the Houston office. “Houston is known for energy and healthcare but there is much more to the city’s story, and we’re proud to help tell it through the spaces and buildings we design.”

Located five miles southwest of downtown Houston, 9 Greenway Plaza is one of ten buildings in Greenway Plaza, the city’s premier master-planned suburban development. Situated inside loop 610, the campus has a modern aesthetic and features shopping, a food court, and more.

Corgan first entered Houston in 2008 and has since developed a deep connection to the local community. The firm sees the office move as an investment in the region, its clients, and its employees. Corgan Houston employs more than 35 people and plans to hire more this year.

When developing their new office design, the team followed Corgan’s client process, starting with visioning and programming sessions from which three overarching concepts—community, innovation, and belonging—emerged to guide the development of the office. The space embodies Corgan’s dedication to design excellence and innovation, featuring unique elements like a custom wooden bench developed by designers in collaboration with the firm’s model shop and computational specialists. This design seamlessly integrates physical and digital processes and was built in partnership with a local Houston fabricator. To reflect Corgan’s branding, an “agility wall” was created with 2,000 wooden pegs that move freely within a static grid frame, creating dynamic variations in form, light, and shadow.
