Advancing workplace efficiency through innovative design

WillScot’s new headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona, represents an achievement in commercial interior design and architectural planning that seamlessly merges performance, identity, and employee well-being. Corgan worked closely with WillScot, an industry leader in modular office and portable storage solutions, to create a location that encourages connection, transparency, and agility for both employees and clients.

The new space consolidates the company’s operations for its 500 employees under one roof and embodies WillScot’s core culture of innovation, agility, and flexible thinking. Open work neighborhoods, enclosed work zones, and collaborative hubs provide a carefully calibrated balance of flexibility and efficiency for both team-based and heads-down work.

Located in the planned commercial and residential mixed-use community of Scottsdale Entrada, the location offers employees walkable access to dining, shopping, and cultural amenities against the backdrop of some of the city’s most stunning desert views.

Problem solving with strategic solutions

Built within an active, occupied building, Corgan translated the space’s original, irregular floor plan into a logical, efficient workplace layout by identifying solutions that encourage community, transparency, and collaboration. Now, strategically placed circulation paths, clear sightlines, and shared amenity spaces encourage movement and interaction.

Located in the center of the space, the café and commons area are designed to be primary gathering points — strengthening culture, fostering informal collaboration, and creating a genuine sense of community. The layout includes phone rooms, private offices, dedicated wellness spaces, and mothers’ rooms conveniently located throughout workplace neighborhoods for easy accessibility.

The project also required the addition of an emergency generator and an enterprise-grade IT network within the constraints of an accelerated schedule, an existing redundant power infrastructure, and a defined budget. A combination of strategic solutions, including planned long procurement lead times and closely monitored budget management, ensured that the project remained on time without compromising technical performance standards.

Regionally inspired interiors

Corgan’s design approach throughout the 79,000-square-foot space is rooted in regional context and a commitment to employee wellbeing. Floor-to-ceiling windows along the office perimeter maximize natural light while framing views of the surrounding terrain. Clean lines, abundant natural light, and unobstructed sightlines to the outdoors foster an environment conducive to creativity and collaboration. Material selections and color palettes, ranging from deep blues to earthy browns and desert-inspired rusty reds, that reflect the mountainous desert landscape of the American southwest.

This regional identity continues throughout the office in thoughtful, site-specific details. The primary conference room features a modern art interpretation of the surrounding mountain range that serves as a focal point while a sliding wall that divides two distinct workspaces showcases architectural drawings of WillScot’s projects set against the backdrop of the local landscape.

The office space represents Corgan’s successful execution of a complex, large-scale work environment that balances competing priorities: advanced technology integration, employee wellbeing, and a cohesive expression of WillScot’s identity to provide solutions, productivity, and enhanced customer satisfaction. The result is a headquarters equipped for future growth that embodies the company’s core values of flexibility, adaptability, and forward-thinking solutions.
