A luxury retail brand appeals to sophisticated tastes

Montblanc, in partnership with Paul Sheeran Jewellers enlisted Corgan to design the first standalone boutique in the prestigious retail store in close collaboration with Montblanc designers and a local design team. The project entailed refurbishing a protected building located in Dublin’s historic city centre to create an exceptional high-end boutique reflecting the spirit of a label renowned for superior craftsmanship and quality. Montblanc collaborated closely with Corgan and Paul Sheeran to embody its distinctive aesthetic and unique vision within the constraints of a protected structure in the heart of Dublin’s vibrant pedestrian neighborhood.

Design complexities

Corgan maintained the integrity of the existing interior fit-out with best practices for historic preservation and sustainability, collaborating closely with the contractor to implement the brand vision while following regulation and compliance standards and respecting the historical value of the building. Materials were carefully sourced and considered before construction and monitoring heating, cooling, and lighting was included in the design concept. Due to the delicate nature of the premises and historic conservation, our design team managed a great deal of coordination between the owner, the city, and the designers during the pre-construction phase. Operating within a limited timeframe to open in time for Christmas, sourcing materials in the current economic climate was a challenge. Thanks to the partnership with the general contractor and collaboration with brand designers, the project delivery met expectations and was completed in time for the shopping season.

A watch brand gets a classic and timeless design

The entry’s black canopy and curved floor-to-ceiling windows welcome customers to the sophisticated space. High-end finishes, seating areas, and open shelves with offset lighting showcase the merchandise to appeal to the brand’s upscale clientele. A neutral color pallet, millwork, and dresser drawers create a timeless and traditional aesthetic to display the extensive collection of writing instruments, leather goods, and watches. Montblanc offers engraving within the store to strengthen the brand and establish status with customers.
