Nature inspired. Amenity rich.

Moving to one full floor of a high-rise downtown, the world-class law firm needed more space to grow along with compelling amenities to support their associates and clients. Differentiating itself as a progressive legal practice that breaks traditional norms, FISH turned to our Interiors Studio to create a hospitality rich environment that plays on their company name. Inspired by fish and water elements, the bright airy space reflects openness and transparency with floor-to-ceiling window views of Ladybird Lake, glass-enclosed meeting and conference rooms, and a materials pallet tied to Austin’s love for the outdoors.

Inspired spaces to delight and connect

Natural elements create moments for discovery. The open reception area delights guests with wavy translucent shapes hung from the ceiling. Shore-like stair-stepped ceilings and a live edge conference table mimic organic forms found in nature. Glass globes and LED ring lights evoke the sensation of bubbles while wooded creek beds inspire circular art forms. A winding pathway connects the space and provides intuitive wayfinding to offices and private meeting rooms, hospitality lounge areas, casual booth seating, a large breakroom, and an all-hands space with several popular attractions including gaming tables for casual and intentional collaboration.

Functional and fun

The timeless and modern design balances traditional and whimsical references to create a distinct environment that reflects FISH’s unique brand and corporate values. While empowering employees with the spaces and resources they need for productivity, collaboration, and focus, their new Austin office is an expression of a new movement in law firm spaces — one that both honors the tradition of the practice as well as the sensitivity and impact of their work while supporting modern preferences for today’s workforce.
