What if instead of paying for parking, you could get paid to park?

A renewable energy grid needs to store massive amounts of energy from intermittent sources, and even though energy storage solutions are maturing, they cannot currently be deployed at the scale or density required. The V2X Parking Garage, however, introduces the possibility of building structures that can facilitate the distribution and storage of renewable energy via electric vehicles, microgrids, and information energy systems — allowing car batteries to offload their excess energy to everything from the home to the grid. Steady power from alternative sources like EVs could serve as a backup during blackouts or stabilize the grid during peak demand — turning the parking garage into a large battery pack for the surrounding ecosystem and electricity storage into a form of currency.
