A landmark transformation
Located in the heart of Washington, D.C.’s Central Business District, 1901 L Street represents a landmark transformation of an existing eight-story concrete frame into a 12-story Class A office building. This ambitious repositioning project includes both a vertical expansion – adding three additional floors and a penthouse amenity level – and a horizontal extension of the floor plate, bringing the building to 260,000 square feet of thoughtfully curated workspace.
Visitors are welcomed by impressive architecture and thoughtful design from the moment they arrive. The two-story lobby makes a powerful first impression: light-filled interiors, expansive glass walls, a hand-crafted feature wall, marble floors, sleek columns, and interior glass elements create an arrival experience that resonates with tenants and clients alike.
Lifestyle amenities in a prime location
Tenants enjoy exclusive access to a newly added, premier indoor-outdoor rooftop experience. A wraparound terrace offers sweeping 360-degree views of the D.C. skyline while the rooftop’s conference space, catering kitchen, and coffee bar provide an ideal location to host clients and connect with colleagues. A state-of-the-art fitness center with spa-like amenities further enhances the tenant experience, supporting health and well-being as an integral part of the workday.
Sustainability at the forefront of design
Inspired by the latest advances in workplace performance and wellness, 1901 L Street is the first project in D.C. to receive the WELL Building Silver Certification. This distinction reflects the development’s unwavering commitment to creating an environment that supports the full spectrum of human well-being. The project fulfills a comprehensive set of preconditions applicable to core and shell developments, including maintaining rigorous standards across air quality, water purity, nourishment, fitness, comfort, and mental well-being. The project was awarded the NAIPP CD/MD Award of Excellence and was designed to pursue USGBC LEED Core and Shell Certification.
Designed to inspire and attract top-tier tenants in the D.C. area, the project represents the future of Class A office development within a premier destination that seamlessly integrates luxury offerings, cutting-edge technology, and panoramic views from every angle.
This project was completed by FOX Architects before its acquisition by Corgan in April 2026.
