Corgan President: Beware of Overvaluing Multi-Use Work Spaces

I recently had the privilege of listening to Jennifer Zientz, director of programs at the Center for BrainHealth, discuss what we have agency over when managing our cognitive energy. Top of the list: stop multitasking all day. We can manage and preserve our proverbial “brain power” throughout the day if we learn to single-task.
Science has proven that our brains are wired to perform one task at a time. We think we can multitask, but our brain is actually shifting between two tasks, using a lot of energy in the process. If we choose to focus on one task at a time, we will feel the effects of that decision–likely by having more mental energy at the end of the day.
