Microsoft plans to expand data center presence on Far West Side
On the heels of filing plans to grow its Medina County presence, Microsoft again plans to increase its footprint in the San Antonio area. The Washington software company intends to build a 245,000-square-foot data center in the Westover Hills area, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The company aims to place the complex at a parcel it owns at 3555 Westover Link, outlining five colocation facilities for future tenants, targeting a February 2025 start to construction. The project is expected to cost $215 million, though that figure is an estimate and subject to change.
