Corgan converted the 2nd floor nursing unit back to I-2 occupancy from I-3 occupancy. Speed-to-market was a priority during this project, which presented its challenges due to the many unknowns associated with renovations. An example of this was when a wall was opened to utilize an existing Won-Door and found a non-functioning motor. Due to the design-build nature of our relationship with the contractor, this needed to be quickly solved without delay to the schedule. Coordination between the City of Tempe and the Department of Health Services was also key in this renovation. A walk-through with the Department of Health Services was scheduled at about 80% completion in order to expedite the close-out process.
