Connecting and engaging students through advanced college preparation.
The new campus consists of two courtyards with an east-west corridor separating the middle school from the high school grades, sharing centrally-located functions. The new facility includes a total of 25 learning centers, a dedicated music and art room, a gymnasium with a full size basketball court, a multi–purpose room, and three rooms dedicated to robotics. A shared dining and learning commons, kitchen space, as well as science labs are included for the high school and middle school wings. Although the original school had to be torn down, it held sentimental value to the community surrounding it. Many generations of families had attended the school, and it served as the backbone of the community for many years. Preserving this sentimental value was extremely important to the design team in their decisions making process. We partnered closely with the surrounding community to preserve and recreate what they loved about the old facility and drew in current community elements to create a sense of place.
