Frontiers of Flight Museum

Rich in aviation history

Aviation Themed Design

  • 93,000 square feet
  • hands-on childrens exhibit
  • 200-seat auditorium
  • full perimeter mezzanine level
This  museum, previously an airplane hangar, houses objects collected over the years that tell of the rich history of aviation. Building orientation, expansive spaces and aviation themes are critical elements of the design. Excluding offices and workrooms, most of the museum consists of high volume areas appropriate for exhibiting aircraft and other large displays. The two-story facility has three main buildings totaling 93,000 square feet. The main entry at the center of the museum has a large storefront window with a protected walkway. The north wing of the museum houses a hands-on children’s exhibit on the first floor, and a large 200-seat auditorium on the second floor.

In addition to Corgan's core areas of expertise, specialization project types include museums, performance halls and production studios, multi-family residential, retail, hospitality and non-traditional learning spaces.
