Healthcare Design Conference 2015

Be one of the first to Discover What's Next - and Recharge with Corgan!

If you find our "secret agent" and use the code word: "Connect," we'll give you a reward!  Be among the first to the session "How to Plan for Technology that Doesn't Exist" (E73) from 4:40 - 5:40 PM, November 16th and look for Lori. She's handing out power banks (as long as they last!) for recharging your mobile devices.

After you bag your power bank, stick around for Corgan's Tina Larsen, Jodi Donovan and Leslie Echols with Parkland Hospital, and Cyndi McCullough with HDR as they share lessons learned on the largest public hospital project in the U.S.

The new Parkland Hospital is one of the first fully digital hospitals in the United States. The new campus is filled with technology that wasn’t on the market when planning began. This digital technology is designed to improve patient care, enhance security, and facilitate efficient operations. The hospital and design team looked into the future to understand trends and forecast what potential technology assets that patients, doctors, and staff would need. As no one knows the future for certain, the end goal was to design the hospital with maximum IT flexibility and scalability to function smoothly for the next 50 years.

  • Examine how technology accommodates clinical design and vice versa to ultimately enhance patient care.

  • Learn strategies to plan in a long lead time in healthcare facility design and construction projects.

  • Hear lessons learned and how to prepare for technology of the future.

  • Discuss ways and timing for gathering end-user input.
